Quarter 4, Week 10

Image
Here it is, the end, I really never expected this to happen, there's so much more than I expected to happen, but I guess nothing can really last forever. Even if it'll never happen again, it doesn't mean that it never happened in the first place. Leadership always had a special place within my heart, I've always been anticipated to come to school just to meet and talk with other kids and leadership people. Besides that, there was nothing to stressful that happened this week, I passed my Algebra 1 EOC and I'm transitioning a course above to Algebra 2. Besides that, something else happened, 8th grade graduation. Setting up goes as normal, a specific not-targeted person gets mad, and a lot of stuff happens. Setting up for graduation made me realize how I've underestimated my time here, yes, I knew this was to come, but seeing it happen this quickly has this sort of sickening feeling. After setting up and practicing, all that was ...

Year Blog

Image
Time really just zoomed past us, honestly, ever since the start of the school year, I didn't really expect it to end this quickly than how it is right now. The years sort of just seemed like they didn't even last for a month. I didn't really think I'd be able to progress this far, I still can't believe I even managed to make it through advanced courses and all those other things. Leadership & 8th grade in general have truly made an impact that will always stick to me, and I can greatly appreciate that entirely. Of course, my first thoughts on it weren't exactly like this, I didn't have an exact thought or occurrence on the title of leadership in general. I'll just say that on August when I first stepped into the classroom, it wasn't as ideal as I'd think of it today. I didn't know any of the leadership kids, so out of response I just pushed them away if they ever tried to respond or talk to me. It's not exactly like I was rude, ...

Quarter 4 Blog

Image
So, it's the final quarter of the school year, as much as I'd try to write an extremely long blog, I currently don't have much to talk about for whatever reason. Yes, there's been a lot of important events, but the other years had somewhat minor, yet an abundant number of things that happened which I could write about. All the important events had mainly stretched out, and they were the same practices or events. With that in mind Aswell, there were about 2 or so important parts about 4th quarter that I'll be writing about. First of all, the orientation, of course, this event had been planned on for an extremely long time, starting from around mid-October. We've gone through with it for a while but didn't really talk about it much for quarter 2 and early quarter 3. However, during the middle of quarter 3 was when it was implied on. It was demanded to be constructed and ready to present from that time on, and I still struggled with making that dance. O...

Blog 3-25

So today we're officially back from spring break, I will say that I miss it already and I'm wishing for it to come back. On top of that, I'm also anticipating quarter 4 as it will be the busiest, this including orientation (the only thing that I know of as of right now), Not much had happened this week, and I'm pretty sure that there's nothing I can really write it about as it's only been the first week. So far, we're getting ready for orientation which includes mass training for the dances and getting our costume/script ready. We're getting ready to practice eventually and I'm anticipating what's going to happen. Planning the Orientation Ahead of Time     A high this week is seeing everyone again after spring break, nothing more to say, I just missed them from spring break happening. First week and it feels like it's been a year. A low this week is getting ready for orientation, there's no explanation, orientation just a somewhat stress...

Quarter 4, Week 9

Image
I have so much to rant about this week, whether it be towards a specific person or about an event that just happened recently. For one thing, awards night was cancelled so I didn't have to really worry about that, but 2 other incidents stuck with me during this week that I'll forever remember and hold some sort of grudge against. For one thing, aloha dinner happened this week, and as it happened on Friday (An MTSS day), we were the first period and had to help out with setting it up. The task Mr. Ing assigned us was really simple and only required 2 people, specifically the older ones Leilani and me. We had to carry some walls for the background of some photo shoot area. In order for said walls to get to where we wanted them, we had to go to the I-Building and transfer it to the cafeteria. Both buildings are parallel from each other and are on opposite sides of the entire campus. In other words, it'd be a little difficult to carry a wall tha...

Quarter 4, Week 8

Image
To start it off, this week definitely should've been busier than it should've been for me, but thanks to a lot of cancellations and preferences it got shorter. Apparently, there was supposed to be 2  events that I was supposed to attend to but didn't. Firstly, the last ISA event, which was golfing, was something I had originally anticipated to attend. I had played golf for years; I live directly next to a golf course meaning that I could just enter it and practice through my backyard and do it as I please. With all things put together, you could tell I was somewhat prepared for this event. However, a few weeks in advance, it was cancelled. Obviously, I was disappointed and should've mentioned this during this week it was decided to be cancelled for us, but then I'd have nothing to talk about on this one. The second event is 8th grade banquet, which I didn't go to either. I'll just say that I don't care much about eating, it's not like I can...

Quarter 4 Week 7 Blog

Image
It's already May, the whole school year went by fast, truly. I (somewhat) remember the first day of just not talking to anybody and keeping to myself; I mean I still do it, I'm just more open than before. A lot was stressed during this week, for example, we had to try and get ready for our aloha dinner. I was told to help make ANOTHER choreograph which I have to dance to that again, and now I have to sing a song from Aladdin which I currently don't know because I'm too tired to actually realize and come to my senses. We started off on the choreography by making it somewhat simple with little problems, but the singing is what mainly killed us. We were really bad with it, and the audio on the speaker that comes out sounds absolutely horrible. It's common knowledge that you sound worse than what you sound like to other people listening, and even worse when it goes through some technological source. I will also just say that nobody knew how to save & import th...

Quarter 4 Week 6

Image
We had already finished the main orientations and didn't have to do anymore practice since we weren't dancing, but there was one event that we had to work at/attend and it's the parent orientation. Even though the "regular" orientation and parent orientation are both basically the same (including in their own names), the transition into parent orientation from the regular one was altered entirely. For starters, we don't have to do the dances or tours, we didn't even have to wear the costumes as the only thing required to be used was the yellow polo shirts. Parent orientation wasn't as complicated, nor was it was long, it was only just presenting the school and what would happen including its schedule and such. Although it sounds like this week wasn't as bad as you'd think, on the very last day, we had to go to the 7th grade class day to chaperone. What better place to chaperone at besides Ice Palace, I won't get to much into details b...

Orientation Blog

So, one of the more major events for leadership had just come and gone by, and now it's our turn to talk about what happened there. Orientation is a little event put on during school by leadership that is used to get elementary students who visit Ilima for this specific purpose to get more familiar with shifting from elementary to middle school (Ilima Specifically). However, in order to add a spark to the presentation, you're forced to dance to a choreography composed by one of the students. A few select students are given a certain role to contribute into the orientation, and a few examples can include a presenter, slide maker, choreographer, etc. Presenters use slides as they read out instructions or information regarding Ilima, and those slides are conducted by the "slide makers." And choreographers are just choreographers, as we choose a song based on whatever movie or theme the orientation is on; the choreographers make a dance regarding the song. If you do...

Quarter 4 Week 5

Image
This week had mainly consisted of orientation which had basically killed me, but i'm suppose to avoid talking about that and put it onto a separate blog. So with that out of the way, there's nothing to really talk about during this week at all. However, I will say that I had stressed on this week and quarter 4 a lot, there was just a lot to do and although i'm ready, i'm also not in some way. During this week, we also discussed Aloha Dinner mainly. We mostly talked about what we would wear and such including gifts and planning the whole thing out. We also talked about some dance and sing-a-long thing which we're going to have to choreograph as well. Overall, subtle week besides the orientation i'm suppose to avoid.     One high that had happened this week was that it wasn't as bad as I originally have thought. l I expected a lot more to deal with and just in general, being extremely busy, but it went by in a snap and wasn't as terrible as I'd a...
