Quarter 4 Blog
So, it's the final quarter of the school year, as much as I'd try to write an extremely long blog, I currently don't have much to talk about for whatever reason. Yes, there's been a lot of important events, but the other years had somewhat minor, yet an abundant number of things that happened which I could write about. All the important events had mainly stretched out, and they were the same practices or events. With that in mind Aswell, there were about 2 or so important parts about 4th quarter that I'll be writing about. First of all, the orientation, of course, this event had been planned on for an extremely long time, starting from around mid-October. We've gone through with it for a while but didn't really talk about it much for quarter 2 and early quarter 3. However, during the middle of quarter 3 was when it was implied on. It was demanded to be constructed and ready to present from that time on, and I still struggled with making that dance. Orientation is a performance made for the elementary schoolers that will hopefully come to Ilima so they can get a head start in seeing what it's like. The orientation included mainly things to inform the elementary students, this included speeches and some play that showed the dress code. And in many plays, there's often choreographs/dances involved, and I was a choreographer of one of them. I will say that my experience was something, I wanted to make the choreograph somewhat unique like in elementary school, but I guess it had to be a little simpler and easier to perform. I'm still proud of what I did, and overall, the whole arrangement was nice, nothing interesting or bad happened in orientation. Besides that, it was mainly just the last few Family Nites and Parent Orientations, nothing interesting happened with them, other than the fact that they were the last ones that we had to do this school year. I had to come to one Family Nite, and the 5th/last one was the one we decided to go to. This Family Nite was based off ELA, and it wasn't as bad as I thought, my family didn't really help to make it enjoyable honestly. They didn't exactly want to be there, can't blame them though I guess. Recognition night had no significance, I did however get straight 4.0's through the whole year. In other words, not a mental beat down from an Asian mother. They aren't actually like that, unless it's like a B- or something. The 2nd event was most likely the Aloha Dinner, same things as orientation with us having to dance and give out speeches and announcements, except we have to restart all of that to make a new script and choreography. In a sense, aloha dinner was actually really enjoyable, I made a good announcement and the choreography we spent a lot of weeks putting into turned out well. The gifts we made were also good, and the whole entire event went out smoothy. I wish there was a lot more I could write, but a lot of events like ISA were shortly cancelled and I didn't go to ISA or 8th grade banquet since they weren't my thing. Maybe if I did attend those or they weren't cancelled, I'd write another autobiography. Quarter 4 truly was treasure worthy and will forever remain as a memory by my side.
Aloha Dinner
Won't go too much into details, but one high this whole entire quarter was I managed to talk a lot more than I did. Realistically I still would keep to myself and don't talk much, but if it comes to things like presenting, I'm usually more outgoing about it now and don't mind doing it. I'm also able to ask and talk to people if I need something. I'd still I'm still more of an independent person, but I'm willing to help others or let them help me if I need it. I find it weird that a few people didn't know I was introverted for the past 10 or so years. A low this quarter was the orientation, the whole getting ready thing was fine, but performing it actually killed me in so many ways. The whole event and changing rooms are a melting pot, & a few of the kids there were a little unbearable. We also had to wear extremely bulky things in the hot spring shifting into summer weather. On top of that, this lasted 4-5 days, I got used to it on day 3, but it was still tiresome.
