Blog Week 1, Ilima Intermediate, Leadership Advisory

This week was basically the start of the school year, and it's been very crowded and very stressful and mostly tiring in a way. Not much has happened the first few weeks besides the scheduled pick up where we basically had to arrange a pickup for the kids in an organized and neat fashion. Besides that, the start of the week has been very calm and mild, with not much happening. With the opening of the school year, many are either very bored or disappointed rather than excited. With estimation, 1/20 people seemed uniquely interested in the school year at least a little, and the rest showed very little energy or care. While interviewing some people, they stated that, " They were tired. " Or that, " They wanted to go home. " It seems as though this week has been a very big bust since the start of school after a 2-month summer break. But the teachers seem to at least lighten the mood for the students. Many teachers seem excited for the new school year to start, and they're trying to pull in students for the same level as their mood. With the new students coming, there's a handful of 7th graders joining ilima, a lot more than last year's 7th graders. Besides that, I'd like to talk about my personal experience so far with the new school year. Overall being invited into the gifted and talented program to find out it was mainly about leadership kind of changed my perspective in a way. I'm not one to judge a book by its cover, but my first perspectives of leadership are not the best. I didn't expect this kind of thing especially since I thought GT was separate from Leadership. My first impressions aren't exactly, I'm a little bored and awkward with it as of right now in my own opinion.

The highlights of the week are well, it's the start of school again. We finally get to see friends, we can hang out around school, we can finally learn again, and have something to actually do. On top of that, there are at least some kids that are bright and happy about the new school year, I've seen lots of kids with high energy (wish I was like them) and seemingly excited for school. Another highlight could possibly be seeing our favorite teachers or counselors, or staff members in the school. Some downlights could possibly be the negativity of coming back to the school. Lots of people are drained from their energy and are seemingly exhausted in a way. None seem to be excited or hyped for the new year, and it doesn't look like it's going to change soon. Another downlight could possibly be how much trouble is going on already, the new people coming in can be somewhat problematic in a way, lots of people being called to the office are in 7th grade, or that get in trouble in a way. It seems that this school year isn't coming to the greatest as of now.

                       ( Welcome back Ilima Students!)

Overall, a lot but yet so little has happened this week, many people have come in, and there's been some stuff that's been going on. In a short but sweet summary. not many people are happy and are acting that good because of it. But perhaps the moral of this is that things just need time to heal. Like a wound or a grudge. Although nobody is going to get used from the transition from break to school, we'll learn to adjust and a come to that sort of circumstance. In other words, we'll get used to it, and learn to be happy by seeing the good side of our school.
