Week 4 Blog
Where we took photos
This week has been a lot more unique for me, basically this week, we had to help out with picture taking, AND had to help set up the flag football games. For the first part of the week, we had to help take pictures for, well, picture day. It wasn't as bad as it seemed, and I saw people that I knew, so it was a good way to help the school, but also spend class time helping Ilima in a way. The place we had to take pictures was the school cafeteria. My main job to contribute for the picture day was to mainly just guide people to the stage to take their picture, and sometimes I had to hand out an envelope so others can buy their pictures for people such as their parents. For the other half of the week, aka the flag football, all we had to do was learn how to set up the flag football, basically the field and other supplies. So far, we had only learned dhow we had to set up the field, and only got out supplies. We are told we will set up the field today next week. I suppose the ups of this week are that I was able to see friends from other classes during my time helping with pictures. It was nice to talk and see them again, and I enjoyed meeting them once again. Another UP could have possibly been that I was able to help in some way, I guess it's good to just contribute to help Ilima in a certain way. Another upside was that I got to do some classes without having to do some written assignment. I was able to do something relatively fun and enjoyable, instead of some paperwork or something like algebra, Ela, etc. Some downsides may be the flag football, to be honest, yes, I want to help in a certain way. But I may have to participate in the flag football Aswell. I'm more brains than brawn, which means I'd rather read, write, learn, rather than doing something more athletic. It feels rather weird to do the thing I don't like the most, but other than that, everything is kind of normal.
I don't exactly know what a moral dilemma of the story is, especially for this one. But I suppose that my past weeks have been bad, and I expected a miserable year in a way. But I guess it's gotten a little better, so perhaps the moral is to not judge a book by its cover. Because at first, some things may not seem the best on the hard label, but deep inside the pages, there's a truly exciting story to be told.
