Bio Cube Blog

Since the first ever week of school, and even since before that during summer break, we were introduced to the bio cube. A 6-sided cube that allowed us to share little but big details about ourselves to other people. Big question though, what even is a bio cube? Well, a bio cube is generally, well, a cube. It contains 6 different sides that share detail about us to others when we present it. Mainly a bio cube can contain multiple different kinds of information, perhaps what your favorite animal is, what pet you have, what your dream job is, etc. But mainly, we follow a specific code to make our own cubes. It consisted of 6 things. Our name and some pictures of ourselves (w/o the mask of course), Our personality, our background story, our obstacle, our significance, and a Quote that inspires us. Bio cubes were supposed to be made during the training for leadership whilst happening over summer break. However, I was unable to attend it due to a program my mom had signed me up early for before I was invited into the leadership. However, I was able to finish it during when the school year started, and although I was very confused and didn't know what to do, I managed to complete it. How did I make the bio cube you might ask? Well first I obviously got a cube, it was from a 6x6 cardboard box, and I logged onto a site called Canva, which allowed me to make decorative and vibrant writings to tell some things about myself. Although it took a while to print it, I was able to complete it. We were assigned a presentation after a few days when I just got my box ready, and my group and I had presented. Although I was nervous because they most likely had more experience due to them attending the summer training. It was a lot easier made me realize that although leadership is hard work, it's sort of simple in a way. I did really good and got an A when doing the actual presentation on the bio cube. And after that, they were hung up to the ceiling to be displayed. Although others might've liked their cubes, seeing mine I sort of cringed at it. But all I can say, is thank God it's over.

Some highs of this could've possibly been how very simple and easy it was, although it sounds tough and possibly even difficult. It was a lot easier than expected, it was very simple to think about what I should write on the cube for some of the subjects. And presenting was possibly even easier, it was only 6 sides, and I was able to present it with passion. Along with that, we didn't have to present the whole cube in one day. We were able to present half of the cube a day, allowing us to be able to practice and expect what is to happen the following day. It was very beneficial and made the project easier. Another thing could possibly be how it allowed me to share some things about myself for others to know about me, Aswell for me to know about others. As for its intentional purpose, it allowed others to know more about me, and allowed me to know a lot more about my peers. For another thing, it allowed me to get a lot more prepared for presenting. In leadership, there's a lot more public speaking and being more social. And obviously since I basically hate talking to others, this is a good improvement. Some lows may be that it was sort of out of the blue. I guess on the first day and me being a little late to the bio cube, I didn't have much time to do it. And under peer pressure, I rushed it, meaning that it came out not how I wanted it to be. And I definitely think I could've made it better. Another thing that I struggled with may be presenting, yes, I did get 100% on the assignment, but I did do some minor things I hated during presenting. I fidgeted, I moved, I think I possibly moved the box a little as well. I guess because I was nervous, I started moving around to ease my mind.

                                                             Typing out the bio cube

Personally, I don't know a moral. But because of the bio cube, it made me realize a lot of leadership. It made me realize how although things may seem hard at first, charging through it with no fear will make you realize that you can do it. You may realize it's not as hard as it seems, and although it may be hard, persistence is what allows you to continue through.

Besides all that, there's still a lot more I need to talk about the bio cube. And a lot more that the bio cube needs to talk about me. There were only 6 things I could share about myself, including my name and some pictures. I still think that there's a lot more things that should be shared, but the thing is, what do I want to be added to this bio cube? There are many things I would share about, perhaps some things about my dog, what I like to read, or what games I play specifically. But a main thing I believe that we should've shared is our opinions on school/leadership. A lot of people have different opinions on the school and learning about their opinions will not only let us know things about them, but how we can make their experience better. Perhaps some people will not have the best first impressions, perhaps they feel uncomfortable, or unsure about the new school year. Perhaps they feel stressed or pressured. It allows us to help those people and allows people to us. It can let us open our thoughts and feelings, and to improve those things. We shouldn't discriminate on what they think, and instead should try to help them. It allows us to bond, connect, and improve ones experience.
