Week 4 Blog

Where we took photos       This week has been a lot more unique for me, basically this week, we had to help out with picture taking, AND had to help set up the flag football games. For the first part of the week, we had to help take pictures for, well, picture day. It wasn't as bad as it seemed, and I saw people that I knew, so it was a good way to help the school, but also spend class time helping Ilima in a way. The place we had to take pictures was the school cafeteria. My main job to contribute for the picture day was to mainly just guide people to the stage to take their picture, and sometimes I had to hand out an envelope so others can buy their pictures for people such as their parents. For the other half of the week, aka the flag football, all we had to do was learn how to set up the flag football, basically the field and other supplies. ...

Blog Week 3 (Ilima Intermediate)

Nothing really unique or diverse happened this week, there's not really anything big that is very stressful to me happening as of now. However, this week has been remotely based off of cubes a lot. This week we had just finished presenting our Bio cubes, and we had strung them up in the air to show it. If I'm being honest, I really didn't like mine, and the leadership teacher also thought they were all ugly. We also now have to make questions for our leadership teacher and then put it all on a cube. I had finished my questions and I think they're good. And I find most of them unique compared to what others had to say. However, we didn't exactly make the box yet. So far, the weeks been really great as of now though, and it's pretty chill and normal to me. As of any other week at school typically. This week had been a lot more relaxing than any other, and it's the first time for this whole school year. However. I'm very eerily suspicious that it'...

Blog Week 2 ( Ilima Intermediate ) [ + Q&A Along with response with new Principal, Mr. Greenland ]

This week has been the 2nd week of Ilima, in which there have been a lot of improvements, and a lot of random changes. We apparently got news such as a new principal, and just new strict rules provided by different teachers exclusively, etc. But mainly in leadership, what happened was our Bio Cube. Bio Cubes are essentially just a 5x5 cardboard cube that has a fact about yourself on one of the 6 sides. For example, one side is your name and some pictures of yourself, and another can be, well, perhaps your personality, your favorite places and things, etc. So far this week, we only were able to present 2 sides, our name along with pictures, and our personality. A lot of the other leadership students did a really good job presenting their cubes. And in my personal opinion, I think I did well. Besides a few falters at the start, so far, I had a lot more emotion and some entertainment into my presentation that made others giggle or snicker. At the end, it...

Blog Week 1, Ilima Intermediate, Leadership Advisory

This week  was basically the start of the school year, and it's been very crowded and very stressful and mostly tiring in a way. Not much has happened the first few weeks besides the scheduled pick up where we basically had to arrange a pickup for the kids in an organized and neat fashion. Besides that, the start of the week has been very calm and mild, with not much happening. With the opening of the school year, many are either very bored or disappointed rather than excited. With estimation, 1/20 people seemed uniquely interested in the school year at least a little, and the rest showed very little energy or care. While interviewing some people, they stated that, " They were tired. " Or that, " They wanted to go home. " It seems as though this week has been a very big bust since the start of school after a 2-month summer break. But the teachers seem to at least lighten the mood for the students. Many teachers seem excited for the new school year to start...
