Quarter 4 Week 4 Blog

I can guarantee you that I am absolutely not ready for next week. It's entirely due to the fact that orientation starts next week, and I'm extremely anticipated on messing up. Some contexts on the matter, orientation is basically introducing 6th grade elementary students to middle school. The idea of it is introduced to become sort of play with dancing, the play is based off of the movie Shrek, meaning that we had to also the characters from it as well. I've been chosen for Rumpelstiltskin and although I'm physically prepared for orientation as in what I have to do, clothing, and acting; I'm still not mentally ready. This week was mainly a lot of practice, and I mean a lot, every day we have to learn when to time ourselves onto the stage, the dances, and touring the 6th graders. Overall, a busy week, but next week is going to be even busier. The Costume That I'm Soon Wearing     A high this week may be that this...

Quarter 4 Week 3

This week had the final ISA event, and I'll tell you that it was long, painful, and extremely pressuring. ISA which I think I finally learned what it actually means, stands for "Intermediate Student Athletics" or something, and the name says enough as to what it means. ISA is just a bunch of sports put together, some I didn't even know that fell under the category of "sports"; and all things considered, the last ISA event proves my point. The last event was dance, and I didn't even know it was an ISA event until a few days later after it happened. I thought that it was just some annual thing hosted for whatever reason. We didn't have to dance, thankfully, but we did have to help our schools dance team moving a lot of props around which included signs. The dance had to be originally choreographed by the school, and has to be unique, so our school's choreography represented some issues that others have. These issues are sort of just sensitive/c...

Quarter 4 Week 2

So, this week was more intense rather than the last one; although it may have been short, the last two days truly were something else. We had Monday-off due to some holiday so thankfully it knocked off one school day, of course that doesn't excuse the 4 others. Tuesday and Wednesday weren't bad, the main focus was just orientation practice which included the fashion show and proper timing when the announcer had to read out clothing and dress codes that referred to what you had on. Wednesday was Family Nite though, meaning we had to stay after school for 2-4 hours depending on if you stayed during the period of the school ending and Family Nite starting, or you just left. I really don't need to explain Family Nite again because I've done it 4 times now and if you didn't catch the gist, that's on you entirely. This Family Nite was based off of ELA or English, and this one was apparently required to attend in order to participate in 8th grade graduation. That k...

Quarter 4 Week 1

First blog of quarter 4 already? It felt like I was already writing the 3rd quarter week 5 or something, time flies by fast when you're more preoccupied, I guess. Besides that, this was the first week after spring break, or the first week of quarter 4. It's sort of weird to believe it's already been this far, but time doesn't really wait for anyone. I must say, this week was very specific as there was only one main focus, and that was orientation. If you don't know what orientation is, I'm not exactly sure either. I'm positive it's about getting elementary students together to learn about Ilima, and putting on some sort of entertainment like a play so they can bare through all of it. So far, we've been practicing lines and timing, but the main focus comes to the dancing. Of course, I'm assure that I already know all the dances that are needed to perform, so I think I'm all set. We also had to help with the middle school dance competitio...
