Quarter 1 Blog for Leadership

Image
It's officially been a full quarter for the first time this school year, meaning that the 1st quarter of this school year has just ended. And we are heading close to 2nd quarter, meaning that we are going halfway through the 1st semester Aswell. Lots of things had happened this quarter and I just want to talk about it. There's been a lot that happened in leadership since the first quarter, and I'd like to talk about it. Firstly, the scheduled pick-up, although I wasn't able to attend it; I suppose I know a bit about it. It was mainly about parents and students getting supplies for the upcoming school year, and although I couldn't attend, I suppose it was very challenging. There was a lot to work on and do, there had to be pictures taken, supplies given, and there were so many confused parents. Then there was the bio and question cube. I won't go into deep detail, but mainly these cubes are about specific information regarding us or some...

Week 8 Blog

Only 1 more weeks left till spring break officially starts, and now we're easing closer to the retreat. This week has been sort of hectic and tiring (for me), for one thing our period had to broadcast on tv (which wasn't that interesting), and we had our first ever family nite. What is a family nite? Well, a family nite is a gathering for a student and their family like siblings, aunties, uncles, parents/guardians, etc., come and visit what ilima has to offer or express. During family nites you can visit students' teachers and see what they do or visit the main attraction which is the cafetorium with games and booths. There are five family nites in total throughout the whole school year and they arrange in different varieties that relate to curricular means. We have 5 family nights total throughout the whole school year, this being our very first, and our next in October. Each family nite is special because it has so...

Week 7 Blog

There's nothing super major that happened this week, so expect it to be very short. First of all, time had basically flown by. It's already 2 weeks till fall break officially starts, and honestly, it still feels like it's only been close to halfway. Besides that, I will admit that leadership is a big part in making that time go fast. The classes are super simple, and there's always something to do. However, if there isn't something to do, I can always just work or use my phone. It's a sort of relaxing class. Oh, besides that, this week specifically. This week might have possibly been the last week for flag football, which I'm sort of looking forward to. Yes, I get to leave the 2nd class early, but standing in the sun for an hour is a very one-sided price to pay to leave 15 minutes earlier. Besides that, there's also a lot more other things that have happened this week. I've also learned about the retreat thing, now mainly the term of...

Bio Cube Blog

Image
Since the first ever week of school, and even since before that during summer break, we were introduced to the bio cube. A 6-sided cube that allowed us to share little but big details about ourselves to other people. Big question though, what even is a bio cube? Well, a bio cube is generally, well, a cube. It contains 6 different sides that share detail about us to others when we present it. Mainly a bio cube can contain multiple different kinds of information, perhaps what your favorite animal is, what pet you have, what your dream job is, etc. But mainly, we follow a specific code to make our own cubes. It consisted of 6 things. Our name and some pictures of ourselves (w/o the mask of course), Our personality, our background story, our obstacle, our significance, and a Quote that inspires us. Bio cubes were supposed to be made during the training for leadership whilst happening over summer break. However, I was unable t...

Week 6 Blog

This week was pretty normal, we did do the same thing. For one thing we had to watch over the flag football game for Tuesday-Thursday which was relatively okay. However, there were a lot newer things that happened things week. For one thing, our teacher had introduced us to the cameras we were going to use to take pictures. At first, we just tested it out during our period, and it was nice. We had to get ready to get the camera because we needed to be prepared to take pictures for upcoming events. These events including things like ISA, Talent Show, etc. And currently, we were preparing to take pictures for flag football. Obviously, I didn't operate the camera at flag football, but I did spectate the matches and things were okay. Besides that, the only other thing that had happened was a GT meeting about upcoming sports events and how we had to deal with 7th grade GT students. There was a parent teacher conference, but I didn't go because I didn't want to disturb my parent...

Week 5 Blog (Ilima Intermediate Blog)

Image
This week at Ilima was pretty normal, for the first part, all I did was just help in the flag football for the whole Ilima school. All I did was I had to just write down the student's behavior, and if the teacher came on time for the game. I will firstly explain what flag football is and how I had to help. Flag football is basically the standard game of football, throwing the football (or soccer ball) trying to get to the enemy goal to score points. The twist is that there are flags around your waist. People can grab the flags on your waist if you have the football with you, which makes it a lot harder.  Basically, we graded the classes on how they acted. Not how well they did, but how well they were at sportsmanship and being friendly with one another, and so far, most of the classes did good. I worked with another girl who we had to work together, and we had probably some of the most hectic teams ever. One class literally stepped out the boundaries about 100 ...
